Author and illustrator Jackie Urbanovic (Duck Soup, Duck at the Door, Duck and Cover) was the APPLE Partnership’s guest for the 2010 Celebration of Reading.  

During her 3-day visit to Henderson, Jackie visited 10 schools, sharing her books and stories with over 1300 students and teachers.  She also participated in a Meet and Greet with 26 area teachers at Paseo Verde Library, and signed copies of her books for nearly 90 fans at a public event at the Paseo Verde Library.

Jackie also took time to be the official judge for the 2010 Artwork Contest, in which schools were invited to create a poster featuring characters from the “Duck” books.
